It's a dutch Gendarme ( police) carbine. Not sure how common/uncommon.But any such rifle in orgiinal finsh ( metal and wood ) and even if a bolt mismatch has got to have soem decent collector value.

Yes it's C&R. My friend Noel Scott tells me if it is matching and in nice shape it's a $600 - $700 rifle.

The price sounds about right. Saw one go for $700 or $750about amonth ago on Gunbroker. I believe only about 1000 were made but don't quote me on that.Ken G
